Napier came alive this past weekend as both locals and visitors enjoyed the annual Napier Wine and Patatfees. Festival goers were treated to an array of food, wine, and market stalls, while being entertained by our local talent and the popular Viljoen Retief. Our popular Scarecrow Competition showcased the creativity of our residents, with Grace Martins taking the top prize for her amazing scarecrow.
One of the highlights in and around the town was the well supported Legend Events races, with farmers giving participants access to scenic routes not easily accessible to the public.
Local owners of guest houses, restaurants, businesses, residents, schools, NGOs, and charities all played their part to make it a memorable event for all in attendance. The Spring Festival benefits Napier long term by showcasing the marvellous community spirit, its inclusive attitudes to all residents, its charming buildings, and productive landscapes. The revenue generated by local business is extremely welcome at this time of year in the Overberg, especially for a slow-moving town. Overall, the Napier Wine & Patat Spring Festival uplifts the entire community spirit and will continue its work as a conduit for much needed funding for the various community projects and future initiatives.
The planning committee would like to take this opportunity to thank each of our values sponsors, partners, stallholders, event staff, and the community at large for supporting the festival.
