Delegates get to grips with Online Marketing

Gansbaai Courant

This  week  saw  eleven  very proud  and happy entrepreneurs who have successfully completed the “Understanding Online Marketing and Social Media” training course presented by CG Consulting at the Tourism Bureau in Gansbaai. The group of entrepreneurs from Gansbaai and Stanford have been attending focused training workshop sessions over a 6-week period, where they were able to get to understand the ever changing environment of online marketing and social media, and are now able to plan and implement their online marketing plan.

“Understanding and kno-wing how too effectively use social media, in conjunction with your website, is an essential 21st century skill” says Geoff Elske, MD of CG Consulting in Hermanus. “However Internet Marke-ting does seem difficult and daunting to most. But, by understanding and tackling each internet marketing tactic step by step, entrepreneurs can make it more manageable and start producing effective results.”

This interactive course, has shown delegates how to set up and use their website; how to blog effectively and to maximise social media platforms in order to achieve results and measure a return on investment. Implementing an effective internet marketing plan will improve one’s business’s overall marketing program and will contribute to achieving business growth. The delegates continue enjoying support following the conclusion of the course, through a group forum and private website where delegates can interact with the facilitators or other delegates, pose questions, comments and are able to download course material, templates and resource material. Charlise and Geoff Elske, the designers and presenters of this course, are entrepreneurs themselves faced with limited marketing budgets. They have an on the ground understanding of the challenges faced by other entrepreneurs in dealing with this very important element of the marketing mix, and hence why they can state that the course is designed and presented by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs.

“There is a strong interest for additional courses to be held, and workshops for the Overberg are being planned to start again in August 2015.
