Gansbaai Courant het heelwat klagtes van padgebruikers ontvang dat die R43-pad tussen Stanford en Gansbaai onveilig is.
A fire that started in the Grootbos Forest Lodge lounge on Saturday the 27th of August has resulted in substantial damage to the front section of the building’s roof as well as water damage to the public areas.
No major structural damage has occurred to the rest of the building which includes the kitchen area, all back of house offices, the conference room, the art gallery and reception area.
The suites as well as the surrounding Fynbos vegetation were not affected.
The clean-up process has already begun and management is preparing to get the lodge ready for occupation as soon as possible.
An expected time frame for reopening cannot be given at this point in time but a re-opening date will made available by Monday the 5th of September.
Operations at the Garden lodge and the Grootbos Villa continue as normal.
