R43 Padgebruikers Kla: Padmakers Moet Spoed V...
Gansbaai Courant het heelwat klagtes van padgebruikers ontvang dat die R43-pad tussen Stanford en Gansbaai onveilig is.
“Gansbaai is WOW!” – this was the message brought by Gerald Elske, guest speaker at Gansbaai Business Chamber’s final member evening of 2016.
The meeting was held on Monday, 21 November, and members felt honoured to share in Mr Elske’s expertise. Elke has been a business consultant for the past 30 years, and addressed his audience about marketing prospectives.
He said that Gansbaai has so much to offer its visitors and that this magic we have inherited, should be exploited. He reminded guests that tourists are investors in our town and need to be looked after and be encouraged to spend their money here.
Were we aware that the golf club is the most Southern one in South Africa?
He urged business people to use all the marketing tools available.
The chamber’s chairperson, Julia Barlow, encouraged members to support one another.
She urged that members should recommend each other’s businesses to visitors, and further stated that competition is a healthy thing. “Be prepared to go that extra mile”, she said.
Julia, former owner of Lighthouse Tavern, said business people should add value to their product: – stay open later for a few minutes to help a late arrival; order an item; keep customers informed, and most importantly: “Don’t forget to smile and enjoy what you are doing”.
Julia singled out Doulene Els, the chamber’s secretary, for the amazing work she is doing and also thanked her committee for their co-operation throughout the year.
Municipal manager, Kat Myburgh, also addressed the meeting and mentioned that business people need to be ready for the holiday rush. He urged members to join the municipal database and explained its value.
Our town’s business chamber members ended the function with a tasty meal and are looking forward to serving their customers –whether they are permanent residents or passers-by.
Every person visiting Gansbaai is important to us.
