On Sunday afternoon, 16 August, Overstrand Arts/Kunste will host the young cello phenomenon, Ben Capps, from New York in concert in the Hermanus Civic Auditorium.
Capps will play the Cello Suite No. 1, Op. 72 by Britten, Sonata (1915) by Debussy, Introduction and Polonaise Brillante in C major, Op. 3 by Chopin and the Cello Sonata No. 2 in D major, Op. 58 by Mendelssohn.
He will be accompanied on the piano by Pieter Grobler of Stellenbosch.
At age 21, Capps was appointed principal cellist of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas and enjoys a versatile performing career as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral principal. Book early to avoid missing this young artist known as virtuosic and impassioned and for his dazzling technique!
