Breaking Barriers is a 6month accredited educational program that is initiated through The Football Foundation, Overstrand Municipality, ABSA Spaces for Sport, Active Communitites Network and Exercise Teachers and Training Academy. It provides an opportunity for all local community residents who are interested in sport to obtain a National Sports Coaching and Administration Certificate at no cost.
Past Gansbaai students like Danver August, Corrie Avenant, Bulelani Mthobela, Mziyanda Matiwane,Pieter Jantjies, Irma Burger and Shereen Van De Merwe to name a few have all found the course to be very informative and assisting them in obtaining a job in a field they enjoy working. Other students from Hermanus like Brine Nofotyo and Nkosinathi Jojo has grabbed the opportunity with both hands and made the qualification work for them, like Mr Jojo who moved from school Janitor to Sports Administrator.
This opportunity is a once in a life time chance for any person with a love for sport to take charge of his/her life and be the change they want to see.
Breaking Barriers will be holding its 3rd Class starting on the 4th February and will be looking forward to graduating a few more candidates to take on our sports industry and make a change, so that our country sports can evolve and grow more and more.
