Breaking Barriers students hosted a sports clinic on Friday 26th April with 80 children from Blompark and Masakhane Primary Schools. The day was a great success thanks to the Breaking Barriers coaches-in-training, the students who attended, and the local sponsors who made this event possible.
Nineteen students from the Breaking Barriers six month course took the field to deliver skills trainings for hockey, netball, rugby or soccer. Roughly 20 grade 6’s and 7’s from both schools attended one station from 3-6pm and enjoyed the sports training and fun games.
On behalf of Breaking Barriers, in association with the Football Foundation and eta, the students would like to thank the following sponsors for their valued support: Birkenhead Estate, Checkers in Hermanus, Fruit and Veg in Hermanus , Gansbaai Superspar, JLR & Associates Architects, Flip Geldenhuys Builders, Nayna, Football Foundation of South Africa, Gansbaai Sports Centre (Barclays/ABSA Spaces for Sport), Exercise Teachers and Training Academy, Masakhane Primary and Gansbaai Laerskool.
