Kwaskenades – A group of women artists who enjoy painting as a hobby and meet every Wednesday under the tuition of Olga Swanepoel. Olga allows the ladies the freedom of painting in their own style and medium.  Most of the ladies choose to paint in oils, with variations of water colour and pastels.

After Colleen Knox sent me a picture of her painting of Lighthouse Tavern and asked me to exhibit it at our restaurant, I suggested that we have an exhibition of all the ladies wonderful work so that everyone in Gansbaai may have the opportunity to enjoy the talent of Gansbaai ladies.  I must add that I never had the privilege of exhibiting Colleen’s work as it was sold before the paint was dry.

After a meeting with Colleen and Olga it was agreed to have the exhibition on Saturday, 05 July from 10h00 to 17h00.  We invite everyone to join us at the exhibit and browse through the various artists’ wonderful work.  You will be able to chat to the artists whilst enjoying a cup of coffee or tea and eats.  Artwork will be on sale and entrance is free.
