R43 Padgebruikers Kla: Padmakers Moet Spoed V...
Gansbaai Courant het heelwat klagtes van padgebruikers ontvang dat die R43-pad tussen Stanford en Gansbaai onveilig is.
On Saturday 4 September 2014 at 10:45 Const Arizan and Const. Sukwana was busy with patrols in Melkhout Street, Stanford when they noticed thick smoke coming from Blombos Street. They rushed to the street and found that the house situated at 1591 Blombos Street completely engulfed in flames. They immediately contacted the fire department for assistance as the fire was already out of control.
After the fire was put out it was discovered that the 60 year old Anetta Rooi who was bed ridden and dependant on a wheel chair had perished in the fire. The house and wooden structure that was build onto the house was completely destroyed. The neighboring dwelling also suffered extensive damages.
According to the husband of the deceased he had gone to the shop leaving his wife and daughter at home and when he returned home he found it to be on fire.
