R43 Padgebruikers Kla: Padmakers Moet Spoed V...
Gansbaai Courant het heelwat klagtes van padgebruikers ontvang dat die R43-pad tussen Stanford en Gansbaai onveilig is.
Why change the logo?
The Gansbaai Tourism logo has been around for almost twenty years since the start of the bureau. The current logo depicts the Danger Point Lighthouse and Birkenhead wreck. It has served the region well in the past but we feel that a more modern, colourful, happy logo will do more for us in the future. Logos of today have become simpler in design and one has to consider easy application and colour for print when creating a logo. Simple and stylish. It is important to know how we wish to represent our town as this logo will be a key component of our marketing. What does Gansbaai offer in terms of tourism?
In this regard the committee decided to have a competition for all creative Gansbaai people who would like to help create a new logo. Gansbaai has so much to offer - some of the obvious are of course the sharks, whales, the lighthouse, fynbos, fishing, beaches. Our marine heritage is a real draw card in this area. There are many more and we are aiming to define that which we sell.
A logo would normally be a max of four elements but probably less so it is important that we are clear on what we wish to represent as Gansbaai. There are many logo designs out there that will provide inspiration.
We hope this will be an engaging opportunity for all to consider what Gansbaai means to them and to the rest of the world and to feel #ProudlyGansbaai (We will be using this hashtag more on our social media).
Current tag lines
Our current slogan is ‘Shark, whales and so much more’ and the town is also known as ‘the great white shark capital of the world’. We also have a slogan used from time to time ‘the Big 2 town’.
We would like to come up with a slogan that truly represents that ‘much more’ we speak of, which is all encompassing and appeals to emotions.
So to all those out there that are good with words, can you help us better define what Gansbaai is about. Ideally it will fit right in with the new logo.
How to submit?
This is an open competition and all entries (logos or slogans) whether hand drawn or of computer design must be submitted to doulene@gansbaaitourism.co.za before 31st October 2014. The top ten will then be chosen by the committee and put to a public vote which must be completed before mid November.
The prize is the satisfaction of being the one to create something special for your town which we will promote far and wide.
How do you keep up to date?
The final ten logos and slogans will be published in the Gansbaai Courant and you will be given the opportunity to vote for your favourite. Please ensure you follow and contribute to our new facebook page and twitter so you can keep up to date with this competition and all other news.
