You may have missed the southern right whales but there are plenty other things to do….Die Toerismekantoor is by die Great White Junction (Supersparsentrum) en die vriendelike personeel staan gereed om u al die nodige inligting te gee. Strande, quad biking, perdry, hiking trails, eco trips en veel meer!

A full programme of events is available from the bureau but here are some of the hightlights: 21 December - Carols by Candlelight  in the Gansbaai harbour from 20:00. 27 December - Big 2 town music festival - Hierdie musiekfees is ‘n moet vir alle vakansiegangers, met kunstenaars soos Snotkop en Heuwels Fantasties wat gaan optree. For young and old there is putt-putt, climbing wall and bungee jumping! 31 December - Danger Point ½ marathon - The last marathon of the year. The route takes one along the coast with spectacular views. Entry forms available at the Bureau. Pop into the bureau and take a photo with our icon. Load it onto Facebook and twitter and stand a chance to win a prize (#capewhalecoastsummer). Or take a sticker with you and take a photo where you are enjoying yourself on the beach, out fishing or quad biking and again load it onto facebook and twitter with the #capewhalecoastsummer.

The Bureau opening hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:30; Saturdays 09:00 - 16:00; Sundays 10:00 - 14:00. Special days: 24^th and 31^st 08:30 - 16:00; 25^th and 26^th Closed; 1^st January 10:00 - 14:00.

This festive season is a busy time in the area but if each one remains considerate and courteous both in the shops and especially on roads then everyone can have an enjoyable and relaxed time.

Overstrand has won a number of awards for the cleanest municipality and we would like to keep it that way so please leave only footprints. In her festive message the mayor of the Overstrand said: “It is not only the season for festivities but also the opportunity to show goodwill towards one another.

Let us be trustworthy and responsible in all we do, showing respect to all.”
