Griffins Horse Archery Club meets every Friday for club training.
To be a member of Griffins Horse Archers, you have to have a few lessons, after which it may be possible to attend the group training. A minimum of 30 points needs to be shot in bareback competition before one can become an official member.
Griffins Horse Archers club is a non profit club.
GHA is affiliated to WFEA (World Federation of Equine Archery) and SAEF (South African Equestrian Federation)

Book a 2-4 hour outride at Griffins Valley, where you will be taken into the rolling hills and vast stretches of Fynbos. The valley is home to various wildlife, flora, and incredible views of the area.
Riders will be given a horse suitable to their level, and the length and pace of ride will be dependant on the experience of all riders in the group.
We recommend a reasonable level of fitness before booking, as the rides at Griffins Valley are through bush and on the trail, and require an agile physique for safety of rider and horse.

Please note: The size of groups for riding varies depending on the level of riders and time of year, so enquiring well in advance is recommended to confirm availability and options.
Griffins Horse Archery hosts a 40m long indoor archery range for shooting. The 40⨉12m area allows a few archers to shoot at once, with one end of the range being made of solid foam to ensure arrows do not get damaged. There are adjustable target faces that can be set to the appropriate height.
Not only is the Indoor Archery range made for archery, but has a gym space for doing exercises, and is adjacent to the Griffins Horse Archery shop where one can view all items available for purchase.
The indoor range is only a 100m walk from the Horse Archers Cottage, and is where training begins on most days.
Griffins Horse Archery offers self-catering accommodation, where anyone can come to stay to do daily training, or to simply take in the splendour of Griffins Valley.
The Guest House is surrounded by fields where the horses roam, and is situated just 100m from the Indoor archery range. It is a 10 minute walk along a dam and through forests to get to the various Horse Archery tracks.
The Guest House has:
– 2 rooms with double-bed, 1 dorm room with 3 single beds
– Two Bathrooms (2 toilets, 2 sinks, 2 showers, 1 bath)
– Open lounge/Kitchen area
– Scullery with large Fridge and Freezer, also Dishwasher
– Outside Braai/Barbecue area (Wood supplied)

If timed correctly, Horse Archers can book accommodation prior to the WFEA competitions hosted here during the year. Space is limited, so booking in advance is essential. We recommend a reasonable level of fitness and riding experience for those who want to come and train.
