Grootbos Private Nature Reserve

Less than two hours away from Cape Town lies the magical region of the Overberg.  A unique landscape of fynbos covered contours and beautifully textured coastlines. In the heart of this majestic floral kingdom is a private nature reserve dedicated to sustaining this delicate world heritage site for generations to come.

During the months of May to July, the Overberg explodes into a flurry of colourful commotion as the winter months signals the flowering season of the fynbos of the Cape Floral Kingdom and when its natural inhabitants come out to play. This special time sees the blossoming of the endemic Erica irregularis, the return of the Southern Right Whales, the breeding season of most birds endemic to the fynbos and lots more.
