Marine Dynamics / Dyer Island Conservation Trust invites you to join them for a truly International Coastal Clean Up Day.
The objective is to collect data on this one very important day of the year so we will complete data cards, weigh all the garbage, submit our photographs to PlasticSA and all the data will be logged on the Ocean Conservancy database.
“Harnessing the Power of People to Fight Ocean Trash: Nearly 12 million people and counting have been part of the world’s biggest volunteer effort to protect the ocean. Will you join us this year?
Today, plastic has been found in 62% of all sea birds and in 100% of sea turtle species. A problem as big as plastic in the ocean requires a big response! By participating in the International Coastal Cleanup, you can make a difference. You’ll join millions of volunteers just like you, who love the ocean and want to protect it.” – Ocean Conservancy
Wear your South African best and make your country proud.
The Marine Dynamics International Marine Volunteers will represent their respective countries and our DEEP Blue ambassadors from Masakhane Primary will join us as we partner with the Overstrand Municipality to make our coastline beautiful for us all. We invite the Gansbaai community to join us at the Gansbaai Camping Ground parking, area at 10 am. We will walk towards the tidal pool and transport will be provided back to your vehicle.
