The Kleinbaai Neighbourhood Watch was started in June 2021 by a group of concerned Kleinbaai residents with the objective of protecting property and residents from crime. To this end, the KNW conducts regular patrols during the hours of darkness as well as maintaining close co-operation with SAPS, the local Community Policing Forum, the Department of Community Safety (DoCS) and all security companies in the area. The KNW has also embarked on a programme of installing cameras at critical points in the area to provide early warning of traffic and pedestrian movement, funded from resident donations, membership fees and grants from DoCS. The KNW is a formally constituted organisation, managed through an Executive Committee and is accredited through DoCS.
