Komtessa Boutique has been part of the local fashion scene since 1992, when founder Kokkie Engelbrecht opened the Gansbaai branch after establishing boutiques in Tygervalley and Goodwood.
In 2022, after almost 50 years in the fashion and retail industry, Kokkie retired and sold Komtessa to Tinneke Lutzeyer. This marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the boutique.
For Tinneke, taking ownership was a natural continuation of a long-standing connection with the Komtessa brand. She first worked at the boutique during school holidays as a teenager, where her love for fashion’s glitz and glamour began. After matriculating, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Motion Picture Medium from the African Film and Drama Academy in 2008.
Today, Tinneke continues Komtessa’s tradition of quality and personalised service while bringing her own fresh approach to the boutique. The collection has expanded to include trend-led clothing alongside timeless classics, with a special focus on showcasing local designers.
Accessories such as leather belts, handbags, scarves, and costume jewellery complement the collection of clothing and shoes. The boutique’s stunning gift selection includes lifestyle items such as room diffusers, wicker baskets and other carefully chosen pieces.
