Urgent Appeal for Donations!
Ons Dorp Projek urgently needs your help to fund our community projects.
Ons Dorp Projek was started by Carla Gouws in 2023.
What started as a gardening club soon morphed into something greater. Carla and her fellow gardening club members decided to make a difference in the community.
They identified spaces in Gansbaai that needed TLC and then formalised a plan of action. And so Ons Dorp Projek began.
As Gansbaai continues to grow, maintaining the Main Road is more than a welcoming factor, it is an opportunity to draw visitors to the town.
Because projects are in public spaces, Carla and her team liaise with the municipality to get permission.
Ons Dorp Projek aims to clean up, revamp and remarket Gansbaai as a family-friendly coastal destination.
Ons Dorp Projek keeps busy by tackling various beautifying projects that include but are not limited to:
Ons Dorp Projek needs your help and welcomes all donations!
Are you interested in becoming involved with the Ons Dorp Projek?
If you are, contact Carla to find out when the next meeting will be so that you can be part of the change you want to see in your community!
Ons Dorp Projek strives to inspire the community to upgrade their neighbourhood streets, it’s as easy as 1-2-3!
Help collect litter if you come across it along the road and encourage others to do the same.
You might also plan a community cleanup day with your friends and neighbours to get residents engaged in helping tidy up areas around their properties.
Enhance an old wall by adding a fresh lick of paint. You can also use paint and varnish to make older fences and other outdoor objects look new and fresh again.
If buying paint is too costly, don’t be shy to ask friends and neighbours to clear out their garages. Old tins of paint can be put to good use instead of being wasted.
Plant more greenery! Beautiful foliage and plants add vibrancy and life to a space, fill empty ground patches and enhance curb appeal. A few trees, new grass, some flower beds or a few bushes can go a long way toward enriching your community.
Those living in flats can add a potted plant or two to their entrances to create a more welcoming effect. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune either, ask friends and family for plant cuttings and you are already off to a good start.
