Perched above Gansbaai Harbour, Schooner House is a beautifully refurbished guesthouse within a beloved heritage site that has been a local landmark since 1919.

Once an old-fashioned boarding house, the iconic building has evolved into a homely guesthouse that still holds the charm and rich history of its past. 

Whether you are visiting with friends or family, Schooner House welcomes guests from all walks of life, with many returning to enjoy its unique atmosphere.

Meet Your Host, Trudie Nel

Trudie has roots in Botswana’s Kalahari and Limpopo Province. 

After working in the retail industry for many years she evolved and became a successful business owner, with Schooner House being her most recent endeavour.

Her passion for creating personalised holiday plans ensures every guest experience is special. From custom recommendations to thoughtful touches, Trudie goes above and beyond to make you feel right at home.

Rates

The room rates at Schooner House are as follows:

Standard Rooms

• Classic Double Rooms (rooms 1, 4, 5 and 10) - R895 per night
• Interleading Small Family Room (room number 3) - R1,095 per night
• Standard Double Rooms (rooms 6, 8 & 9) - R795 per night
• Double Family Room (room 11) - R1,095 per night

Self-Catering Rooms

• Self-Catering Family Room (room 2) - R1,295 per night
• Self-Catering Room (room 7) - R1,195 per night

Cancellation Policy

• 21 to 28 days before arrival: forfeit 25% of the deposit
• 14 to 21 days before arrival: forfeit 50% of the deposit
• Less than 14 days before arrival: forfeit the full deposit  
• The full deposit will be forfeited for cancellations between 15 December and 10 January
• Non-arrivals will be charged the full accommodation amount
