Children's Health and Education..
The Skills Exchange Cooperative (SEC) is starting the SEC green fair at Evergreen Farmstall in Stanford. The market will run on the last Saturday of every month from 10am to 3 pm. The first one being next Saturday the 28th September. Be there or be square and bring you're family and friends.
All the products sold are produced by SEC's Micro bussiness entrepreneurs and social development initiatives.
Introducing some of the talented producers:
Nosisa's Kitchen.. Nosisa is a 31 year old Xhosa baker bomb shell. She is renowned for her home made breads and cakes so be sure to buy a few because they do not last long they are so delicious.
FreeLance.. Lance van Rooyen is a SEC Micro bussiness owner mastering in carpentry, woodwork and is a qualified geologist. Lance has a wonderful way of turning the world around him into art. Come and see for yourself and appreciate the fine detail and craftmenship that is put into his work.
Wadada Africa.. Willem Hanekom is a SEC Micro bussiness owner and runs a skills exchange program around his bussiness. Willem only uses recycled leather and no harmful or unnatural materials are used. Wadada products include bags and sadle bags, sandles, uggs and jewellery. Willems products are a wonder on detail and quaility and prides itself on being ethical.
Stanford Creative Works.. This initiative runs out of the soup kitchen is Stanford and promotes a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for children and young adults to explore their creative potential. Products made by this initiative will help raise funds for the running costs and materials to sustain this project.
Music & Movement Club.. This initiative is run in the Uilkraal valley and hosts 20 children between the ages of 3-16. Teaching children about music and movement can help to spark creativity and appreciation for the arts. It develops a great sense of body awareness and improves confidence and self-esteem. All products sold will help raise funds to sustaining this initiative.
These are but a few of the great products that will be sold. Maggie will be singing for us, Regina facepainting and the horseman, Howard Krut, will be selling his horse manure. There is something for the whole family to enjoy.
