Sunshine Nation

Sunshine Nation was started by Eloise van Tonder in 2024.
The non-profit organisation uplifts and empowers vulnerable communities in the greater Gansbaai area by providing comprehensive support services.
“We aim to address critical challenges such as employability, substance abuse, sexual violence, infrastructure development, education, and health.
Through collaborative partnerships and sustainable, scalable project models, we strive to create a positive and lasting impact on rural and disadvantaged communities, ensuring no one is left behind.”
“We envision a resilient and self-sufficient South Africa where all communities have the resources and support they need to thrive.
By encouraging education, health, and socio-economic development, we aspire to create a future where everyone has dignity, opportunity, and hope, regardless of their circumstances.”
Sunshine Nation empowers communities with HIV and TB healthcare and support services.
Sunshine Nation offers domestic violence support in a safe space.
Sunshine Nation offers support to individuals struggling with substance abuse by helping them take the first steps toward recovery.
They provide guidance and emotional support in the stages leading up to rehab, assist with referrals to facilities like Ikamva, and help arrange placements at rehabilitation centres. Their goal is to walk alongside each person until they are safely on the path to healing.
Sunshine Nation provides mental health services focused on compassion and confidentiality.

Sunshine Nation offers a variety of early childhood development (ECD) and after-school care services.
Sunshine Nation champions celebrate elders in the community with fundraising incentives and assisted living care education.
Sunshine Nation believes in planting strong roots in the community and the soil.
Through agricultural development, they offer training and sustainable farming education to help communities grow food and make healthy eating part of everyday life.
Rather than giving away produce, they use it as an incentive to encourage participation and learning. Regular talks and community sessions also promote the importance of nutrition and self-sufficiency.

Sunshine Nation offers prearranged workshops planned according to the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) healthcare calendar.
These health drives are held in Pearly Beach, Buffeljags, Baardskeerdersbos and Masikhane, Gansbaai.
Sunshine Nation needs passionate, committed people to volunteer their time.
You don't have to be a doctor or a former CEO. All you need is a heart for people, a willingness to get involved, and a drive to help the organisation grow.
Although there is no remuneration, your contribution is rewarded with purpose, impact, and the chance to make a difference in each community Sunshine Nation serves.
Sunshine Nation would love to hear from you if you want to be part of this special incentive.
Sunshine Nation needs your help to thrive.
