Remote Work: Should Location Impact Remunerat...
As remote work becomes more common, I’ve noticed an interesting trend...
It is that time of the year when employees start acting out and I see all kinds of crazy behaviour. This is where you play an important role to set the tone for the last few months.
KNOW YOUR NUMBERS: Plan the December holiday season period, who is going to work and who is on leave. Know how many staff members you will need over this period to reach your goals. Start training casual staff so that you are prepared should one of your staff members not show up in December, we all know this usually happens. But also have a meeting now already where you explain to them that you need the team to work together and what the consequences will be should they not add their weight. Make sure you are going to end the year strong. When you know your numbers, you can see that maybe you must throw in a few open days or marketing days or whatever it is that works for your business. Or even have a competition for your customers. If you know your numbers now is also the time to talk to your accountant and see what plans, you can put in place for your VAT or taxes.
FOCUS ON YOUR MARKETING: The effect of marketing is not always immediately and often only in three to six months, so do not slack on your marketing now. Ask your team for ideas on marketing.
SET MICRO GOALS: Are you a cup half full or ’n cup half empty person? What can be done in 12 weeks? A lot! Set 1 goal for every week. You can decide if you want to align it with a company goal or with a specific departmental goal. Be strategic.
