Letting Go of the Past Part 2
Releasing the hurt, anger, and negative emotions from the past can seem impossible when we feel stuck.
If you are not satisfied with the results in your life, it is time, to be honest with yourself and face the facts. Your results are linked to your actions and behaviours, which have been shaped by your past decisions. You may believe that you are predisposed to certain behaviours, but in reality, most of your behavioural patterns have been acquired through nurture, learning and experience. Your parents, friends, peers, tutors, and religious leaders have all contributed to your thinking and actions, and this has led to the beliefs you now hold.
Your beliefs may however not necessarily be an accurate representation of reality; they are simply your perception. This perception is based on how you have been programmed to think and determines how you interpret life and the world around you. With repetition, these beliefs become stronger. That is why people become stuck and find it so difficult to break away from them.
If you wish to change your life, it is important to understand that you have the power to do so. You are not a victim of your heredity; you can create your own experiences and make the choices necessary for a better life.
