Liquid Sunshine

The beautiful citrus plants are by far the most generous of plants. From the orange tree alone we can get three different essential oils. Namely Sweet or Bitter Orange from the rind; Petitgrain from the leaves and twigs; Neroli from the blossoms.

Generally speaking, oils obtained from the rind of citrus fruits are beneficial for digestive disorders, the lymphatic system and of course the skin.

But more than that they are so uplifting and provide great relief in these stressful times. Working on the mind and emotional wellbeing... and as we know, often once your emotional center is well looked after, the physical well-being will follow.

Here are a few examples:

 • Bergamot: Uplifting for anxiety, depression and stress. Sedative for insomnia.

 • Grapefruit: Great de-stress oil, uplifting and refreshing. Euphoric. Benefical in cases of Manic Depression. Balances the entire nervous system, and revives in cases of jet-lag.

 • Lemon: Most uplifting and refreshing. Clears the mind and brings clarity.

 • Lime: Promotes a feeling of well-being and emotional balance. Use on days when you are not feeling your best. When you need to center and balance your emotions.

 • Mandarin: Uplifting and refreshing for anxiety and depression. Soothing and fortifying if you are feeling vulnerable. Safe for pregnant women.

 • Neroli: The Rescue Remedy of essential oils.

 • Sweet Orange: Creates a feeling of joy and positivity.

Care must be taken when using citrus oils directly on the skin, as they are sensitive in sunlight and could cause pigmentation or burning on the skin.

Use as blends in a carrier oil.
