No Fireworks Allowed in Overstrand
Residents and visitors are yet again reminded that it is strictly forbidden to set off any fireworks and firecrackers.
All Overstrand libraries will be closed on Friday, 25 August 2023, for the long-awaited restoration of the SLIMS (SITA Library Information Management System) after the database that libraries throughout the Western Cape used, crashed in November 2022.
This crash caused librarians endless administrative headaches as they were unable to keep any electronic records of stock going missing. Patrons were also unhappy that they were allowed a limited number of books during this time.

Residents are welcome to visit our libraries and borrow any type of library material. We also encourage library members to download the LIBBY app on your cell phone or computer. This app allows members to borrow eBooks and audiobooks at no charge.
