With more South Africans living and working overseas, many adult children now manage household affairs, including municipal accounts, for their elderly parents back home.
A recent case in Sandbaai saw an 87-year-old resident receive a monthly municipal bill close to R9 000 - almost three times the usual amount. Understandably, this raised concern for the family member managing the account from abroad.
If you’re in a similar situation and unable to phone the municipality, there are alternative ways to contact the Overstrand Municipality:
1. Email enquiries to: enquiries@overstrand.gov.za
or
2. Use the Collab Citizen App from anywhere in the world
The Citizen app allows you to log service requests, track queries, and even book services such as water tankers.
Search for the green Collab Citizen icon on Google Play Store, Apple App Store or Huawei App Gallery and download it today.
