Overstrand Municipality is moving forward with digital services. Businesses that need a licence under Schedule 1 of the Business Act (71 of 1991) - such as grocery stores, food vendors, hair salons, service providers working with the public, and entertainment venues like cinemas or nightclubs - can now apply online for their Formal Business Licence.

What you’ll need for your application:
• Zoning certificate (Town Planning Office)
• Occupancy certificate (Building Control)
• Fire Safety Compliance certificate (Fire Department)
• Certificate of Acceptability (if you sell food – from Overberg District Municipality)
• Copy of your ID
• Lease agreement or letter of permission (if you rent the premises)
• Layout or approved building plan of the premises
