The Overstrand Municipality Collab Citizen App upgrade has been completed successfully and the App is now available again for use.
Overstrand Municipality is moving forward with digital services. Businesses that need a licence under Schedule 1 of the Business Act (71 of 1991) - such as grocery stores, food vendors, hair salons, service providers working with the public, and entertainment venues like cinemas or nightclubs - can now apply online for their Formal Business Licence.
You can apply in just a few clicks by visiting the Municipal website: www.overstrand.gov.za > Application Forms > Formal Business Licence

What you’ll need for your application:
• Zoning certificate (Town Planning Office)
• Occupancy certificate (Building Control)
• Fire Safety Compliance certificate (Fire Department)
• Certificate of Acceptability (if you sell food – from Overberg District Municipality)
• Copy of your ID
• Lease agreement or letter of permission (if you rent the premises)
• Layout or approved building plan of the premises
We encourage all business owners to use this online platform to save time, reduce paperwork, and make sure their businesses stay legal and compliant.
