For the thirteenth year in a row, Overstrand Municipality has received a clean audit from the Auditor-General, confirming that the municipality met all required standards for financial management and good governance during the 2024/25 financial year.
Executive Mayor Alderman Archie Klaas said the result reflects the dedication of Municipal Manager Dr Dean O’Neill and, his Directors and the municipality’s staff.“This clean audit shows that we are managing our resources responsibly and doing our best for our communities,” Mayor Klaas said.
Dr Dean O’Neill added that the result highlights the municipality’s consistent approach to running operations efficiently and transparently.
“It’s a team effort. Every one of the staff and our Councillors contributes to making sure the people of Overstrand are served responsibly”.
A special mention goes to our audit support team, working behind the scenes who co-ordinate and keep everything on track for the clean audit,” he said.
Overstrand Municipality extends its thanks to all employees, families, and residents for their role in maintaining these standards over the years.
