SASSA DATES FOR JUNE 2026
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) will be in the Overstrand on the following dates from 09:00 - 15:00.
Local business owners, professionals and community members are invited to take part in a collaborative economic development initiative focused on creating jobs, supporting business growth and unlocking sustainable income opportunities across the Overstrand region.
The Overstrand Inclusive Growth 120-Day Activation Session will take place on 28 May 2026, from 17:00 to 19:00 at the Hermanus Auditorium.
The session is hosted in collaboration with the Overstrand Municipality’s Social Economic Services and Rahn, an organisation that helps businesses improve efficiency and reduce costs through smart AI and process optimisation.
The initiative will be kickstarted in Hermanus and, as it grows, will hopefully be extended to the towns of Gansbaai, Stanford and Kleinmond.
This session is a call to “doers” - people ready to take action and contribute to practical, community-driven solutions. The session is designed to move from discussion into implementation, with participants committing to 120-day pilot projects that address real economic opportunities in the area.
During the two-hour session, attendees will choose priority sectors to focus on, form working groups around those areas, and commit to practical 120-day pilot projects.
The five key sectors identified for growth in the Overstrand area are tourism, agriculture and agri-processing, local services, construction, and digital and remote work.
This initiative aims to bring together local skills, resources, and business energy to create real economic impact. It is looking for people who are willing to give their time, skills, or capacity to help build a stronger and more inclusive local economy.
The event is open to all Hermanus residents who want to make a difference. Those unable to attend in person are still encouraged to contribute their ideas and input via an online form: https://forms.gle/8iTwaWEngedGQx7s7. Please RSVP or share your input by 22 May.
