Our Operational Services Department is experiencing high call volumes from residents requesting tanker services.
South Africa moved to level 3 lockdown on 1 June 2020. Under the Alert Level 3 Regulations in terms of the Disaster Management Act that were signed on 28 May 2020, the Fernkloof, Kleinmond and Rooiels Nature Reserves as well as all other Open Space 1 areas are open for use for the purposes that it has been designated for.
Reserve users who would like to explore Fernkloof Nature Reserve can get access to the reserve via all existing, sign posted and designated footpaths or hiking trails.
Kindly take note:
- No areas may be accessed unless by means of a designated path or trails.
- If an area is marked “no access”, please do not venture here, there are reasons for this request (erosion prevention, scarce plants or safety).
- The public needs to ensure that cloth masks are worn at all times.
- The public needs to ensure that they stay within a safe distance from each other and not group together.
Also note that the Fernkloof Nature Reserve is not a 'self drive reserve' and will therefore remain closed to vehicles at this point.
Rotary Way and the Fernkloof gardens are also still closed at this stage. This is in accordance with the regulation applicable to 'public open spaces' where socialisation (such as picnicking) and gatherings at vantage points may currently NOT take place.

The Covid-19 vaccination service in the Overstrand has now been integrated into the normal services at health facilities.
Changes include the addition of pictures depicting the 'Big Five', as well as new animals and plants.
