Spam and Phishing Email Alerts

Please note that a scam involving an email purporting to come from the Overstrand Municipality and the Department of Justice is doing the rounds.

The email comes with the subject line: “2021/484/54 - COURT ORDER (URGENT) - New request created with ID: ##RE-5853## from xyz”. 

The recipients are told that a court order was granted against them in connection with remittance due to their creditors.

The email then states: "Please view default order here: Court/Document/List. Comply with order to avoid execution proceedings against you".

Please be advised that this is a scam. These are not legitimate emails from the Department of Justice or the Overstrand Municipality.
