The Western Cape has officially entered the third wave of Covid-19 and we are urging everyone to stick to protocols.
In order to best serve our residents during adjusted level 3 lockdown, the following arrangements will be put in place for the Traffic offices in Hermanus, Gansbaai and Kleinmond from Wednesday, 23 June 2021, till further notice.
Kindly note that only a certain amount of transactions will be handled per day whereafter offices will be closed for administration work and daily decontamination.
The Municipality encourages residents to minimise cash payments and to make use of card payments as preferred method of payment.
We trust that residents will understand that this situation is beyond our control and that the following working solution is not cast in stone and subject to change. We would like to ask for the public’s patience during this period.
We are, however, committed to create a safe working environment to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and simultaneously ensure a continuation in service delivery. All precautions have been taken to safeguard the public. All personal protective equipment, strict hygiene safety protocol and other precautions are in place.

EFT PAYMENTS
Please pay the correct amount into the Overstrand Municipality primary bank account and use the relevant car registration number as a reference and add GB (if you are collecting the discs from Gansbaai) or KMD (if you are collecting the discs from Kleinmond). This will make it easier for staff members to allocate the printed disc to the correct town.
It is important that the correct details are entered when making EFT payments in order to ensure a speedy transaction.
Proof of payment is required when collecting the licence disc. If the disc is to be collected by persons other than the owner, a letter of authorisation stating the registration number and the authorisation of the person (full names as on ID) doing the collection is required as well as a certified copy of the licencee’s ID and the ID of the person doing the collection.
• Please, do not pay a random amount into the bank account. An incorrect amount will need to be investigated and will cause further delays.
• Always use your car licence number as reference number e.g CEM XXXX (remember to add GB or KMD as well.
• Remember to take your proof of payment with you, when collecting the disc.
• Remember to keep a copy of your proof of payment in the relevant car until you receive your licence disk - keep your expired disc on your window in the meantime.
