Draft Annual Report Tabled and Available for Public Comment

The Annual Report of Overstrand Municipality for the 2020/21 financial year was tabled at the Overstrand Municipal Council meeting held on 26 January 2022.

The annual report is published yearly to provide residents information on the Municipality’s service delivery and financial performance over the past financial year.

Among the highlights listed in the Annual Report include the retaining of a clean audit for 9th consecutive financial year. The quality of potable water exceeded the target of 95% (actual 98.83%); 1238 temporary job opportunities were created through the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and 100% of the Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) were spent.

378 housing units in Hawston were completed and handed over to beneficiaries as part of the Housing programme implementation.

Overstrand Municipality signed a Use-of-System Agreement with a renewable energy trading company, Enpower Trading, taking the first steps to enter the renewable energy market in a green and sustained way.

Members of the community are encouraged to submit written comment on the report. The Council will consider the Final Annual Report and Oversight report, together with all the relating comments received, during a meeting which is scheduled to take place on 30 March 2022.

The Annual Report is available for inspection during office hours at the offices of the Area Managers in Gansbaai, Stanford, Hermanus and Kleinmond, in all the public libraries in the Overstrand, the Corporate Head Office of the Municipality in Hermanus and on the municipality’s website at www.overstrand.gov.za; click on the Documents and Strategic Documents tab to download the Annual Report.
