Prominent Premium Satin Silk

We just love the look of this oh-so-cool courtyard space. Understated, calming and classic - it radiates style. To achieve this timeless look, you will need our Premium Satin Silk and a bit of time on your hands. Here’s how you implement this paint technique: 

1. Wash your walls using a high-pressure cleaner or Prominent General-Purpose Cleaner diluted 1:10 with water and a broom. Rinse with clean water.

2. Fix all the exterior cracks etc.

3. Apply one full coat of Prominent Damp Cure to all the walls.

4. Apply two coats of Prominent Satin Silk in a very light off-white shade like Marzipan (S1504-Y35R).

5. Allow the surface to dry for 48 hours.

Then:

1. Use just 1Lt of Prominent Satin Silk Geco (S4705-Y24R) and dilute this 1Lt in a container with 2Lt of water.

2. Use a rag-like mutton cloth or an old T-Shirt and dunk it into the paint solution to soak the rag.

3. Wring it out completely and then start on one of the top corners and wipe the surface with the rag in small circular movements. At this stage, it’s very important not to ever stop and proceed with the “washing” from corner to corner. 

4. The walls will now have a mottled distressed look. If you want more definition - simply “wash” the walls again with the same solution and colour. This will dry rapidly, so work in the shade when painting and colour washing your house.
