#FastTipTuesday: Strip Down Paint from Wood

If your painted wood has deteriorated beyond repair, here's how you return it to its natural state:

• Apply paint stripper - using a clean paintbrush - and brush it onto the painted wood in one direction until it's completely saturated.

• Allow reaction for 5 - 10 minutes but don't let it dry.

• Scrape off the softened paint with a sharp metal scraper. Use an oval or triangle-shaped scraper for corners and rounded areas.

• Rinse the wood down with thinners and then water and scrub with a scrubbing sponge or steel wool to remove any remaining paint.

Protect and prolong your raw wood and avoid major wear and tear like splintering and colour leeching by applying a coat of Prominent Woodpro Wood Preservative.
