JD Bistro and Wines is a family owned and run business that was established in 2004 by Jean and Renee Daneel.
Jean is involved in the wine farm with their son, Jean-Pierre, who is a winemaker, while Renee’s passion for hospitality is clearly reflected in JD Bistro which she and her son, chef Marchand, run.
The menu at JD Bistro is inspired by the fresh ingredients that chef Marchand sources locally, wherever possible.
Innovative dishes are served according to availability so be prepared for an exciting deviation from the standard à la carte menu.
Chef Marchand focuses on South African dishes that include only the finest ingredients such as locally sourced Grade A lamb, freshwater salmon, ocean-fresh seafood and organically grown vegetables sourced from the JD Bistro veggie-patch.
Other than a superb selection of Jean Daneel wines, JD Bistro’s wine list has been carefully put together to include wines from some of South Africa’s top wine estates.
