A lions eyesight

Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary

A lions eyesight is arguably their most powerful sense.

During the day their eyes see no better than a humans however at night it's an entirely different ball game with them being able to see eight times better! The way a lions eye is designed helps them pick up and amplify very faint light such as that emitted from stars and the moon.

The white line markings underneath their eyes also help to reflect moon/star light into their eyes also enhancing their night vision.
