Meet Gustav Bester, painter, sculptor, ceramicist, printmaker, beekeeper and olive grower.
Gustav and his wife Linda live on a little slice of paradise in the Bossieveld just north of Villiersdorp in what was once a dilapidated schoolhouse standing in a weed patch. Today it is a beautiful house in a garden overflowing with indigenous plants, about a hundred olive trees and vast beds of fragrant lilac.
The heart and soul of the house is Gustav’s studio that always hums with fine Rock & Roll – the soundtrack of his life. It’s here that Gustav creates his magical, moving works of art.
Gustav also teaches ceramics at the local high school once a week.
