The level of the dams on our watch list is slowly rising and while that gives us a warm fuzzy feeling let’s spare a thought for our fellow South Africans in Port Elizabeth who are about a week away from Day Zero (remember when we were there four years ago?). So now while we have rising dam levels it’s a good time to conserve our most precious resource.
• ELANDSKLOOF DAM - 54.1%, up from 42.8% last week.
• THEEWATERSKLOOF DAM - 75.2%, up from 73.9% last week.

Our water plants have been unable to successfully keep up with the demand for water in the town.
Both the dams on our water watch showed a slight dip in their levels this week. This is quite worrisome as we’ve had no rain in the last week.
These are the days of endless summer. The great Van Morrison sang that line and we have a long dry summer ahead of us so let’s try not to suck our dams dry...
