Leather Repairs and Custom Leatherwork Gansba...
Meet Mike Kemp, a skilled leather craftsman based in De Kelders, Gansbaai.
Gansbaai locals, Francette Cilliers-Malan and Tessa Jordaan are two friends who got together to knit, and crochet, 120 jerseys and beanies for children and babies living at Die Herberg Kinderhuis in Robertson.
Francette and Tessa belong to Gansbaai’s NG congregation whose outside projects include Herberg children’s home. The home regularly receives assistance from the community. Sometimes it's baked goods, other times it's toiletries, clothes, and jerseys and hats for winter. In the past, children have also been brought to Gansbaai for a weekend of relaxation.
Over the past few months, the home has taken in 27 additional children, and expenses for school clothes, school supplies, pyjamas and extra warm blankets are adding up. Help from community organisations from other Overberg towns is always appreciated.
One of Die Herberg Kinderhuis’s fundraising projects is the annual CA2CX MTB Tour (from Klein Joostenberg to Knysna), hosted by Classic Cycles Cape Town from June 25th to July 2nd 2024. Cyclists and clubs in the greater Gansbaai area are encouraged to contact Johan Steyn (JJ) for more information and to enter.
