Regarded as the Godfather of Afrikaans rock, Gansbaai local Anton Goosen continues to make waves on the music scene with a new love song.
"Bly By My, (My Lief)" Set to Be a Hit
"Bly By My, (My Lief)" is a soft blues track from Anton's latest album, "Sirkels". The lyrics are derived from a beautiful poem by award-winning writer Antjie Krog.
New Album with Nine Tracks
"Sirkels" is a nine-track album featuring poetry compositions and duets with Freshlyground’s Zolani Mahola and TV presenter Lise Swart.
“The album ranges from ballads about love and loneliness to esoteric, Ghoema, serious protest rock and smoky blues. But overall, it’s a new cohesive sound, unlike any of my previous albums,” Anton shares.
Living Legend
Anton has been a prominent figure on the South African music scene since the 1970s. "Bly By My, (My Lief)" adds to his extensive repertoire of hits, including Afrikaans anthems such as "Trompie", "Kruidjie-roer-my-nie", and "Boy Van Die Suburbs".
