For the second year running, South Africa has struck gold at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London. Once again, the world paused to admire the breathtaking beauty of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
At the heart of the winning exhibit was the inspired vision of acclaimed landscape designer and botanist Leon Kluge, in collaboration with artist Tristan Woudberg. Their ‘Living Oceans’ display celebrated the rich biodiversity of the Cape Floral Kingdom, intertwined with the ever-moving forces of the surrounding oceans.
The exhibit, a bold and artistic interpretation of South Africa’s natural heritage, was made possible through the dedication of Chris Lochner, Bulelani Bashe, Amy Williams and Shivula Khosa, who brought the design to life with care, precision and passion.
Grootbos, one of the proud sponsors of this year’s entry, shares the team’s commitment to celebrating and conserving the Cape Floral Kingdom. This global recognition honours South Africa’s natural wonders and reminds the world of their fragility and the need to protect them.
Here’s to celebrating what’s ours and sharing it with the world in the most extraordinary way.
A little sugarbird told us the winning exhibit will be showcased on home turf in Stanford this September.
