If you're a resident or even an annual visitor to Gansbaai, you’ve probably noticed a tortoise or two crossing the road...
When visiting South Africa, the first thing you will notice after the beautiful landscapes and vistas is the rich culture we hold so dear and Cape Agulhas is no different. Tucked away at the foot of Africa you will find the peaceful fishing village of Arniston with a secret to share.
Overlooking the beautiful beaches of Kassiesbaai, you will find the restaurant with the perfect recipe that combines arts and culture. Willeen’s Arts & Crafts has become a must-see pitstop in Arniston and there is no question why. The cosy restaurant serves up delicious traditional South African meals while showcasing a variety of arts and crafts from the area.
Owner Willeen de Villiers’ home-made meals and sinfully delicious desserts have become legend and also led to the renovations to the building. The original fisherman’s cottage’s inner walls have been removed to create an open-plan but still homey restaurant and is lined with artworks from artists of the area. Due to popluar demand Willeen’s now serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with coffee and tea inbetween.
So whether you are enjoying an extended holiday or just taking a scenic drive through the village, remember to stop in at Willeen’s Arts & Crafts.
