Voet van Afrika Marathon 2016

Bredasdorp welcomes you to one of the biggest trail running events hosted in the Southernmost Region of Africa. Consisting of a combination of dirt road, mountain trail and road running, the Voet van Afrika Marathon tests the endurance of runners from beginning to end.

Celebrating its 38th year, the Voet van Afrika Marathon, Half Marathon & 10 km takes participants through challenging ascents and descents, stretching athlete’s stamina to the limit. Taking place on 15 October 2016, the Marathon starts and ends off at Mega Park in Bredasdorp. As the various routes start at different points, there will be transport offered to the various starting points.

Those looking for a good warm-up or to do a little more than just cheer runners on can take part in the 4 km “Toontjie” Fun Run / Walk on the Friday night at Mega Park. Entry fee is R20 and all participants need to complete an entry form and racecard. The time limit is 1 hour and the first 1000 particpants to finish get a medal.

All participants who finish will receive a medal and there will also be category prizes. Trail details are as follows:

Marathon
Distance: 42.2 km
Starts: 6:00 at Elim Road
Cost: R160
Temporary Lic: R40

Half Marathon
Distance 21.1 km
Starts: 7:30 at Grashoek Farm
Cost: R100
Temporary Lic: R30

10 KM Run
Distance: 10 km
Starts: 8:00 at Mega Park, Bredasdorp
Cost: R70
Temporary Lic: R30
