Using Store-bought Produce to Get Your Garden Going
Whether you have a huge garden, a small balcony or sunny window-ledge, there is always a little space in your garden and home where you can grow your own vegetables, herbs and even fruit.
Each small step achieved to becoming more sustainable will not only save you money, but it will also be food for the soul as you watch a seedling grow into plants bearing healthy produce. Grab your gardening gloves, here are five tips to inspire you to get started:
1. Choose a space where you will create your mini-farm (garden, balcony or window-ledge)
2. Buy quality soil to get started if you have none in your garden to use (the one thing we recommend you invest in to start healthy crops)
3. Plan and plant only what you enjoy eating
4. Research your gardens watering needs (collect rainwater whenever possible the little green guys love it while they are growing)
5. Donate, trade or sell what you don’t use for your own consumption
