The Cape Agulhas Business Chamber (CABC) was established in October 2018.
On 21 November 2018, members nominated a group of individuals to represent the association and serve on its committee.
CABC’s vision is to serve, uplift, inspire and develop the entire community within the borders of the Cape Agulhas Municipality. Not only do they want to fulfil this vision, but they also wish to contribute to an active and growing economy.
The core mission of CABC (Cape Agulhas Business Chamber) is to create sustainability within the Cape Agulhas region.
CABC promotes business relations and community development to help increase employment opportunities.
CABC strives to boost:
To bring together business people, irrespective of colour, race, language or gender.
To promote the economic progress of the CABC area by way of the investigation, creation and marketing of development and investment opportunities.
To promote the inflow of tourists through the development, conservation and marketing of the region as a preferred holiday destination for local, national and international tourists and visitors.
To support community development at all levels for a stable, motivated, responsible community.
To promote connection and cooperation with the respective community and service organisations, to establish common values, a common vision and a better life and work environment.
To help eliminate economic imbalances through the continuous pursuit of new business opportunities. This includes promoting the establishment of SMEs and co-ops in the service area, while guiding them to reach their full potential.
To create discussion forums with other business organisations regarding subjects of common interest to support the development of a sustainable community.
To establish a solid partnership with national, provincial and local governments based on principles of mutual respect for authority.
Also, to liaise and negotiate with them regarding their respective development initiatives.
To provide service to its members through guidance, business leadership, and teaching, to equip them for the business world.
This is done by arranging lectures and discussions on any subject or legislation relevant to business. The organisation also receives such information, processes it, and distributes it to members through various communication channels.
To help create a situation in which local youth can develop optimally. It also seeks to empower them with skills and enterprise for their future entrepreneurial, civil and leadership roles.
This will be achieved by working together with training institutions and other organisations that can provide resources.
The goal is to support youth in establishing small and medium enterprises in their communities.
To give recognition fittingly to any person who has made a substantial contribution, or has performed outstandingly in business, the cultural sphere or any other aspect within the Cape Agulhas region.
To arrange functions and generate funds to further the aims of CABC.
