Coffee on the Rocks stands majestically on the cliff tops of De Kelders overlooking the grandeur of Walker Bay. This private home opens its doors to the public each day serving delicious meals made with only the freshest locally sourced ingredients. Coffee On the Rocks has an á la carte menu with a selection of brunch and light lunch meals. Additionally, they have their famous blackboard lunch specials that changes on a daily basis and offers wholesome home cooking favourites such as spinach tart, beef rogan josh and crunchy parmesan chicken. Sweet treats are baked daily and no visit is complete without trying a slice of lemon meringue pie made with real lemons or chocolate cake made just the way grandma used to make it. The eatery is known internationally as being the best place to watch the comings and goings of Southern right whales in whale season. Coffee on the rocks is perfect for small business lunches and intimate special events, such as small weddings.

Continuing the legacy of her late husband Barry Johnson, Gayle Johnson and her small team of dedicated staff have set out to fill the deserving bellies of local and international guests alike. There is no better place to have an enchanting meal and watch Southern right whales and their calves, enjoying the cool waters of Walker Bay. Legend has it that Gayle adds a special ingredient to each dish before it leaves her kitchen. Some say she blows a kiss into the pot and whispers “be great”, others say its nutmeg.
