Funbos Bikes

About

Funbos Bikes, at Lomond Wine Estate, is run by Jacques Pretorius.

Jacques has his Master's Degree in Environmental Management and has worked as a guide at award-winning destinations such as Sabi Sand Game Reserve and Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. 

In 2024 he realised his dream of owning his own business and started Funbos Bikes at Lomond Wine Estate.

Powered by his passion for the beauty of our planet, Jacques takes you through critically endangered Elim ferricrete fynbos and Overberg sandstone fynbos. The experience is about adventure, education, and relaxation.

When he is not doing E-bike conservation tours, you will find Jacques out E-biking in nature, something he never tires of.

Guided E-Bike Tours

Guided E-bike tours by Funbos Bikes are as follows:

• Duration: 3 Hours
• Times: October to April: 9:00 and 15:00 / May to September: 10:00 and 14:00
• Group Size: minimum 2 / maximum 6
• Includes: bikes & helmets

Four Fynbos Routes

There are four routes for varied skill levels.

The routes are predominantly single and jeep tracks that take you through the diversity of Lomond vegetation.

Your guide is passionate about the miracle of the environment and will go into a great amount of detail about the plant species, and tell stories and tales of the things in nature.

Cancellation Policy

• Full payment is required upon booking
• A full refund will be given if 48 hours notice or more is given
• 50% refund if 24 hours notice is given
• No refunds for on-the-day cancellations

Lomond

Funbos Bikes is based at Lomond Wine Estate.

Part of the Cape Agulhas Wine Route, the estate is set on sprawling farmlands, with a large dam filled with trout, a milkwood forest and a natural wetland abundant with plant and animal life. 

Showcasing its red, white and rosé wines, The Tasting Room@Lomond is open seven days a week. There is a choice of indoor and outdoor seating, and you can celebrate life while you enjoy wine tastings and country-size platters in good company. Available for large and small functions, Lomond is perfect for weddings, birthday celebrations and live music shows. Focussed on wholesome fun, Lomond Wine Estate is family and pet-friendly.
