Here’s a quick look at this week’s highlights, community updates, and important notices happening.
“Gansbaai Skills Development hosted an eye testing day for our community on Saturday 20th January in collaboration with Grace Trinity Church (sponsor) and The Rosani Lens Project from New York,” said Anita Louw.
Anita told the Gans-Berg News that 33 eye tests were done and 23 people received spectacles free of charge. “More teams of volunteers are expected to visit Gansbaai Skills Development (GSD) from our area in March to visit high schools and old age homes bringing hope to those who struggle with vision challenges,” she continued.
Some of the GSD board members, including, Anneri Harding-Male, André and Anita Louw, Nelleke Ferreira, Sammy Brett were there to support and help, as well as Thobeka, Olivia and Ronica of the Isipho Sam project.
The following courses will be presented by GSD at the premises at 3 Kormorant Street from February 2024:
• Nail Technician modules by Elsa le Roux (Costs available on enquiry).
• Yacht and Boat Building by D Abrahams (Costs available on enquiry).
• Computer Literacy by Anita Louw, 7 lessons at a cost of R500.
• Sewing 101 by Anita Louw, 6 Lessons at a cost of R500.
• Robotics/coding for high school learners presented by André Louw after school hours at Academia.
• AMI Maths and Language extra classes presented by Anneri Harding-Male at IKAMVA ELC.
