Belgian Couple's 2nd Visit to Masakhane
A Belgian couple, Chris Vleugels and his wife, Tessa, visited Gansbaai for a second time on Friday, 1 November 2024.
“Over the past nine months, the Luxe Travel Award judges have traversed South Africa in pursuit of unparalleled hotel experiences,” said Chad Fourie, Chief Judge of the Luxe Travel Awards and Managing Director of The Hospitality Counsel. “Tonight, we extol these eminent establishments, offering them a well-deserved platform to showcase their world-class offerings,” said Chad. Amongst the 20 winners in total, two are from Gansbaai.

The sole owner of the lodge, Dekock Björn, told the Gans-Berg News he is extremely proud due to fact that this is their first full season. “The award came as a big surprise to us, as we were not expecting an award like this - I still get goosebumps!” Dekock said two years back it was only fynbos, rocks and open ground and they only started in November 2022.”
